Bangkok, Thailand: Retail technology across Southeast Asia is evolving as businesses adopt cashless payments, self-service systems, commercial robotics, smart-store platforms, and connected equipment to improve efficiency and customer experiences. Against this backdrop, ASEAN SHOP 2027 will take place from September 2–4, 2027, at IMPACT Bangkok, bringing together retail technology providers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and industry professionals from across the region.
The three-day exhibition will cover approximately 30,000 square meters and is expected to feature around 400 exhibitors and attract 40,000 visitors. The event is designed to connect international technology suppliers with Thailand's established retail ecosystem while creating opportunities to develop partnerships across wider Southeast Asian markets.
Thailand provides an important environment for retail technology adoption, supported by modern retail formats, convenience-store networks, food-service businesses, and expanding digital commerce. The country's retail market was valued at approximately THB 4.62 trillion in 2025, while digitalization continues to influence purchasing behavior and the technologies used by retailers to manage stores and customer interactions.
Vending and self-service technologies will form one of the exhibition's key areas. Automated vending machines, payment systems, smart retail platforms, operational management tools, and related accessories can help businesses extend service availability while reducing dependence on conventional transaction models. The integration of cashless payments and remote management is also enabling operators to monitor distributed retail networks more efficiently.
Digital payment technology will provide another major focus. Payment devices, payment-service solutions, commercial AI applications, peripherals, and related technologies are becoming increasingly important as retailers transition toward more seamless and connected transaction experiences. Integrating payment infrastructure with POS and smart-store systems can provide retailers with greater operational visibility and more flexible customer journeys.
Commercial refrigeration will also feature prominently, covering supermarket and convenience-store display systems, fresh-food processing equipment, cold-chain solutions, back-of-store storage, and smart control systems. For food retailers and restaurants, connected refrigeration and cold-chain technologies can support product quality, energy management, and operational efficiency.
Commercial robotics will add another dimension to the exhibition. Reception robots, autonomous retail systems, commercial robotics platforms, technical components, and supporting services are creating new possibilities for automating repetitive tasks and improving service delivery across retail environments.
The exhibition will additionally cover food and restaurant technologies, including beverages, coffee, tea, dairy products, ready-to-eat foods, seasonings, condiments, and food-service solutions. This creates a connection between retail technology and the broader food-service ecosystem, where digital ordering, automation, payment systems, and intelligent equipment are increasingly interconnected.
Smart-store infrastructure will provide a further area of interest. Retail management systems, unmanned-store technologies, visual merchandising, commercial lighting, retail security, store fixtures, and innovative materials can help businesses create more integrated physical retail environments.
The event will welcome importers and exporters, manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, service providers, restaurants, supermarkets, cafes, technology companies, media organizations, and government representatives. This broad audience provides opportunities for technology companies to engage with potential customers and partners while allowing retailers to evaluate solutions across multiple operational areas.
The concurrent ASEAN Retail Leaders Summit will complement the exhibition with industry insights and strategic discussions focused on the future of retail across Southeast Asia. The summit will provide an additional platform for business leaders to exchange perspectives on technology adoption, market development, and changing retail models.
As Southeast Asian retailers continue to combine physical stores with digital commerce and automated services, the ability to integrate payments, robotics, refrigeration, vending, store systems, and intelligent technologies will become increasingly important. ASEAN SHOP 2027 will provide a platform for examining these developments and connecting the companies contributing to the region's evolving retail technology ecosystem.
